The Most Successful Coaches Who Managed Arsenal

By Peter C

The North London club boasts 2 league cups, 13 league titles, and 14 FA Cup trophies. Looking at the club’s trophy cabinet, Arsenal is a successful club domestically, with no UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League title to their name. The club continues its search for a first Premier League title in 17 years. Let’s check out some of the best managers that coached the club in the past.

Arsene Wenger

Wenger has proven himself as the best coach to have taken charge of the club in every respect. His financial shrewdness and management skills have helped the club greatly. He won several titles with the team before he called it quit in 2018.

George Graham

Arsenal was seriously struggling to get a hold of anything tangible before George Graham came in as manager. He instantly turned the club’s fortune, winning a trophy in his first season at the club.

It is hard for anyone not to rate him as one of the most successful Arsenal coaches, after Arsene Wenger, of course.

Tom Whittaker

A former war veteran, Whittaker was very versatile as he was a football manager and trainer, physiotherapist and engineer, and even a pilot.

He also remains one of the most underrated coaches in the history of the club.

Bertie Mee

While in charge, Mee won many titles for the Gunners. The physiotherapist was initially appointed as a caretaker manager before his deal was made permanent, and he did not disappoint. He built a very formidable team that competed well in the league.
