In recent years, the world of football has witnessed a sudden rise in the transfer fees of some significant signings, all thanks to super-rich clubs who are ready to spend heavily during the transfer window. No doubt, Bayern Munich remains one of the clubs in this category, which is why we are taking you through some of the most expensive signings in the club’s history.

In the summer of 2019, Bayern Munich went all out to sign the player with the highest transfer fee in the club’s history from Atletico Madrid. Although the former Atletico Madrid man had a good spell while playing for his former club as a left-back, the decision of his current club to play him as a center-back hasn’t impeded his performance. In fact, he remains one of the best defenders in the world.

2. Leroy Sane (€45M)

The former Manchester City star was one of the biggest signings of Pep Guardiola. The left-winger proved his worth during his stay at Manchester City, scoring 39 goals and providing 45 assists in 139 games.

His incredible performance at Manchester City attracted many clubs, explaining why Bayern Munich had to spend a whopping €45M to sign Leroy Sane.

3. Dayot Upamecano (€42.5M)

Dayot Upamecano’s signing by Bayern Munich became necessary following plans by David Alaba to leave the club for Real Madrid in the summer of 2021. The 23-year-old now plays as a center back for his club and has become an integral part of his team.

4. Corentin Tolisso (€41.5M)

FC Bayern paid  €41.5 million to sign the 27-year-old from his former club (Olympique Lyon). Although the Frenchman had a stellar performance in his first season at Bayern Munich, he has been consistently plagued by injuries, making it difficult to get more playing time at his new club.
