Real Madrid is arguably the most successful football club in Europe when you compare the team with some of its closest rivals.

Current La Liga and UEFA Champions League winner, Real Madrid is not just the richest football club in Europe – the squad has also achieved several unmatched successes. With that in mind, it’s not hard to see why Real Madrid keeps getting more and more supporters.

When you factor in the club’s various achievements over the years, it is no surprise that it has the most followers on social media. Real Madrid is very popular and has millions of supporters around the world.

A recent study by GiveMeSport, one of the leading next-generation sports publishers, found Real Madrid to be the most followed club on all popular social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

The Spanish giant currently boasts a whopping 272.5 million followers, with Barcelona and Manchester United taking the second and third spots, respectively. Barcelona, another successful club in the Spanish League, currently has 256,6 million followers on social. Manchester United has about 165.8 million followers, making it the club with the most social media followers in England.

However, this isn’t just a mere achievement and has translated into more success for Real Madrid. Taking advantage of its huge fanbase, Madrid raked in more than three million euros last season by selling its football shirts on Amazon. Even with the historic signing of Lionel Messi by Paris Saint-Germain and the massive shirt sales the French club also recorded, PSG could only secure second place.
