This year’s tournament did return in great styles, with at least 5000 spectators in attendance to enjoy each day of the game. Apart from the interesting moments which usually accompany the tournament, fans were seriously eager to see their favorites in action.

Popular tennis figures like Ashleigh Barty, Rafa Nadal, Naomi Osaka, Stefanos Tsitsipas, and a few others were some of the tennis players projected to win the title. However, there was a remarkable turnaround of events as none of the strong contenders mentioned above won the title.

German professional tennis player Alexander Zverev who was one of the major contenders in the tournament rose above all others to win the title. This wasn’t the first time the 24-year-old would win the tournament. He was a strong contender, a delight to watch during the 2018 season, and no other tennis player was qualified to win the tournament other than Alexander Zverev.

The German produced an incredible performance when he played against Rafael Nadal, and this was enough to secure a victory over the Spanish Tennis player. This victory allowed him to reach the semifinals.  However, the keenly contested final by Alexander Zverev and Matteo Berrettini produced the former as the winner of the tournament. Alexander Zverev was declared the winner after beating the Italian professional tennis player 6-7, 6-4, 6-3 in the final.
