The 43-year-old is one of the oldest footballers in world football currently and he has amassed an enviable 176 caps for the Azurri, the last of which came in 2018. He remains a legend and icon of the beautiful game.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Portugal

The Portuguese international has been capped 173 times by his national team, netting 109 times. That’s quite huge! He also holds the joint record for the highest number of goals scored for a national team by any footballer; dead or alive.

Vitalijs Astafjevs, Latvia

He last appeared for Latvia in 2010 after accruing 167 international appearances. He was a regular member of the national team setup and won Latvia’s football player of the year three times.

Iker Casillas, Spain

The legendary former Real Madrid goalkeeper also featured for the Spanish national team on 167 different occasions. The World Cup winner enjoyed a trophy-laden career at Real Madrid and was a World Cup winner in 2010 where they beat the Netherlands in the final.
